MISSION

To promote a secure and peaceful environment through maintaining law and order, combating corruption, managing migration, timely registration and issuance of secure identification documents, regulation of gaming and entertainment activities and preserve National Heritage and Historic documents.

FUNCTIONS

• Provide internal security, law and order;
• Register and issue national identification documents;
• Register birth and death certificates;
• Regulate public entertainment and general publications;
• Regulate private security industry;
• Regulate entry and exit of people in and out of Zimbabwe;
• License, authorise and supervise gaming activities;
• Cattle branding certification;
• Vetting refugees;
• Provide forensic science services
• Protect and promote the country’s cultural heritage;
• Preserve national monuments, museums historic documents and artefacts;
